Node Attributes
Node attributes are a set of metadata that can exist on each node. To access this feature, open the “Monitoring Nodes” menu item and select “Node Attributes”.

Upon entering this interface, you will be presented with a table of each node in your currently selected account. Each attribute will be present as a column. If you have sufficient privileges, you can double-click on each table cell to edit the node attribute value for a particular node.

Most attributes will include a text prompt wherein a value may be entered
If the attribute has a set of allowed values defined, the interface will be a drop-down list instead of a text input. Depending on the type of attribute, specific validations may apply. If you do not enter a valid value, you will be notified of your error and given another chance to enter an appropriate value.
Editing Node Attributes
For those with the permission to edit the node attributes themselves, you will be shown an edit icon and deletion icon on each column heading in the table above. Additionally, a circle encompassing a plus icon will display between each column, allowing you to add new attributes in specific column locations.

When adding an attribute, you must provide a unique name that cannot contain double quotation marks. The following types can be utilized:
Text
Number (Values must not contain any non-numeric characters)
Flag (A true and false selection will be provided on value editing)
By selecting “required”, any node that does not have a value for the given attribute will be flagged.
The last selection, the allowed values, allows you to restrict the input provided to a set of choices. To add a choice, enter a value in this field and either hit enter or a comma.
Scope of Node Attributes
When your account is managed by a parent account, you share node attributes and values. Users given permission to edit attributes or values will be able to make changes that affect all accounts in the chain. The following role permissions are provided:
Node Attribute Values (View or Edit) - Those without the edit permission can only view the attributes table
Node Attributes (Edit) - This permission allows editing and creating columns in the node attributes table
