Hub Physical Placement and Installation
The Hub requires a power source and Ethernet connection to the data network containing third party devices.
Power Supply
The Hub uses a standard 5V DC power supply with a 5.5 x 2.1 x 11 mm positive-on-center power jack and a 2 meter power cord that comes with a C13-compatible connector (C18) and works with most plug types including:
NEMA 5-15
CEE-7 Schuko
AS/NZS 3112 2000
BS 1363A
BS 546A
China CPCS-CCC
Contact support@packetpower.com for more options.
Power over Ethernet (PoE)
PoE is available and requires a PoE splitter that plugs into the DC jack. The Hub cannot be powered over the ethernet using the Ethernet jack. If powering using a PoE:
Be sure that the PoE injector source is 5V DC, not 12, 24, or 48V DC and capable of at least 4W of power
Splitters with voltage regulators that will drop the voltage to 5V DC are available
Hub Mounting Bracket
The Hub ships with a mounting bracket
The bracket is attached using a 35 mm DIN rail clip
Rubber bumpers on the back of the bracket can be removed to expose 0.2 inch holes that can be used for permanent mounting with mechanical fasteners
Orientation of the Hub is not critical
Bracket dimensions with the bumpers removed
Width: 75 mm [3.0 in]
63 mm [2.5 in] center hole to center hole
Length: 95 mm [3.7 in]
82 mm [3.5 in] center hole to center hole
