Node Inventory

The Monitoring Node Inventory page lists all the monitoring nodes assigned to your account. It is accessed from Standard Views > Node Inventory.

Friendly names make dashboards, reports and tables much easier to understand than a node's 16-digit ID (e.g., A800-0000-0000-1234). You may assign friendly names to power monitoring nodes, panels, environmental monitoring nodes, gateways, hubs and data diodes.

Creating Friendly Names

To create a friendly name:

  • Go to Standard Views → Node Inventory

Click the Node Name field to edit a nodes Friendly Name.

Once defined, the friendly name will be displayed throughout EMX.

Note that you can not use this process to assign friendly names to virtual circuits in a panel. See Virtual Panels for information about editing circuit level details.
