3D Layouts

3D layouts are built using Equipment Locations and Equipment Types. They let you create a visual map of your physical environment. A 3D layout provides an interactive view of infrastructure components such as cabinets, PDUs, data halls, and other equipment, showing how everything is arranged in the real world.

Equipment Types

In a 3D layout, physical assets are represented as Equipment. Each piece of equipment aggregates data from one or more nodes and channels using tags and metrics defined by an Equipment Type.

Equipment Types act as reusable templates. They define the tags and metrics associated with a specific kind of equipment and can be applied across multiple layouts. This makes it easy to:

  • Map entire server rooms

  • Monitor power consumption

  • View real-time temperature data

  • Quickly understand the operational status of your assets

Equipment Locations

Equipment Locations are logical groupings that represent where equipment is physically located, such as different data centers or sites. Each Equipment Location contains one 3D layout, where you can build the interactive view of all your equipment at that location.
